Lucinda van Buuren
Registered Nurse / Values Based Life Coach / Mindfulness and Meditation Coach / Teacher
Lucinda has been a Registered Nurse for twenty six years, with the majority of those years as an Instrument / Circulating Nurse in the operating theatre. Mediating, empowering and advocating for peers and patient’s alike comes naturally to Lucinda.
Lucinda’s personal experiences in life led her to embark on qualifications as a Values Based Life Coach and Mindfulness / Meditation Teacher. These skills learned, allowed Lucinda to change her life situation for herself and her family even though some circumstances remained the same.
Lucinda learned that the power was within. Lucinda then shared these learned skills and newfound wisdom presenting to nurses and healthcare workers, with the aim of helping others help and advocate for themselves first. When you can advocate for yourself, only then can you truly advocate for others.
Lucinda spoke as a Keynote speaker with the NSW Nurses and Midwives Association at the Future Ready Conference in October 2019, speaking about anxiety and resilience and presented “Surviving to Thriving in Nursing”, with her business The Mindful Nurse Australia.
Lucinda always endeavours to come from a place of humility for all and aims to lead by example in an honest, open and vulnerable way, utilising courage whilst sometimes shaking and standing up courageously anyway. Truth is real, raw and sometimes messy and uncomfortable however it is authentic and transparent. Lucinda works on the premise that if she can stand up even when shaking, everyone else can too.
Becoming a part of WCH Country Council Australia as a Steering Committee member for Lucinda, is both exciting and frightening all at once.
Lucinda believes The World Council for Health and the associated Country Councils being all united and foundationally aligned at their core with the seven principles of The Better Way Charter, makes this profound values based, service organisation and its associated country councils, an essential need for our world now and in the future.
Lucinda is passionate about being the change she wants to see in the world and joining the World Council for Health is that change. Values need to be embodied and acted on and not simply just professed too.
Lucinda is truly honoured and full of gratitude to be walking this path with Dr Tess Lawrie and the team of WCH and all the Country Council’s members all over the world, committed to the values of freedom, community, integrity, transparency and empowerment.
Lucinda hopes everyone that aligns with these values and The Better Way Charter, joins with us to help and collaboratively create the world we want to live in and leave for our children and all future generations.
There is A Better Way.
Thank you for supporting the World Council for Health Australia. Your subscriptions and contributions assist us realising our mission and goals for health freedom for Australia and World Wide.
Pleased to see a nurse joining the fray. When I did my training nurses were not seen by most as lacking relevance by medicos as non contributing in any intelligent way to the wider health debate.
